The Dark North

Geography

The Dark North is covered in snow year round. It's said that the Dark North is separated in two: the main, snow and ice covered wasteland with few trees, and a perhaps tropical, mid-sized forest. However, there is only speculation about what is on the other side of the tall, barren mountains and border the far edge of the Dark North.
Because the Dark North snows almost all the time, there is always clouds in the sky, leading to less sunlight. Because there is little light, it is called the Dark North.

Natural Resources

There is a lot of snow in the area. However, there are some trees. These trees offer very hard wood, so if anyone manages to get their hands on it, they can sell it for a fair price.

History

The Dark North wasn't always dark and freezing. Before, it was just as cold as the rest of North America. However, some queer incident, named now as the Freezing of the North, formed the Dark North into its current permafrost state.

Tourism

It isn't a common tourist spot, because of the Bloodthirsters, lack of anything for miles around, and snow. The only people who go to the Dark North are researchers, people who want to be left alone, people in exile, or people doing some sort of challenge. People are generally warned not to go to the Dark North otherwise.
