The Vagabond

Description of Vessel:

  The Vagabond is a keelboat capable of carrying 7 medium creatures. Though it is capable of being operated by 1 person, the standard crew size for this vessel is 3. The ship is comprised of a variety of oak, pine and teak wood, and it is outfitted with 2 dark blue sails. The cabin on this vessel is quite small, large enough for 2 beds, 2 foot lockers, and a table with 2 chairs. There are two lanterns on the ship, one is fastened to the main mast while the other hangs from the ceiling of the cabin.  

History of Vessel:

  Little is known about the Vagabond's creation, but those who have fell victim to its dark blue sails tell stories of brutal pirates who manned it. The Vagabond used to pirate the waters surrounding the western coast of Tempessi, but when a hurricane blew them off course, they found an island cave to seek refuge in while the storm passed. Unfortunately, the cave was not uninhabited.

A keelboat has the following features:

  Light: There are two lanterns on this vessel. A Lantern hangs from the mast, casting bright light across the ship, and another resides inside the cabin.   Rigging: Complete with ratlines and a Jacobs ladder, rigging on the Vagabond can be climbed without an ability check.   Sails: The keelboat has two sails. The main sail is 30-feet tall with a mast to match, while the head sail is a little smaller. Both of these sails are a dark blue tone.   Keelboat Deck   Ballista- A ballista (DMG, ch. 8) is mounted on the bow of the deck, with ten ballista arrows stacked beside it.   Oars- The deck has 12 teak benches and four 15-foot-long matching oars.   Railing- The deck has a 3-foot-high railing that wraps around the ships perimeter. This railing provides half cover for medium creatures and three-quarters cover for small creatures who are stationed behind it.   Keelboat Cabin   Beds: There are two beds pushed against the cabin wall at the stern of the ship.   Footlockers: At the foot of each bed lies a footlocker. Each footlocker is made of iron and oakwood and has an AC of 19 with 20 hit points. They have immunity to poison and psychic damage.   Table There is a simple wooden table with a pair of matching chairs in the front-left corner of the cabin.   Storage There is a 3x3 foot area in the front-right corner of the cabin that can be used to store dry goods and other valuables.
