City of Brockwell
Capital City of The Fiefdom of Grainwood
Population: 38,431Geography
Formerly known as the City of Anis, the modern City of Brockwell is the main port of entry for much of the Continent of Volkyr. Located at the intersection of Gold's Deep Inlet and The Golden River, the City of Brockwell has been a highly contested area, switching soverienty many times in its history. The forests and grasslands surrounding the city are teaming with animals and vegetation, and the waters that flow through the city are used by many ocean species for mating and feeding. The city has 20 foot high, stone walls surrounding the city on the land side, and a city watch that patrols the streets, coaslines, and waterways.Government:
When Queen Rema arrived in the area of modern day Grainwood, she was met with oposition from the 4 tribes that called this land home; The Acory, The Nasser, The Ichori and the Sordin. When she conqured the four tribes and took them into her Kingdom, she chose a representative from each of these clans, and called them The Pillar's of Anis. The original Pillars of Anis were Ether Morrin of The Acory, Jah Sabia of the Nasser, Lorik Chor of The Ichori, and Cassor Dor of the Sordin. Despite their complicated history with eachother and their tumultuous relationship with their new regent, the Pillars of Anis brought prosperity to the newly found City of Anis and ruled peacefully together for many centuries. Though some in Grainwood still romanticize the time of the Four Pillars, much of its true history was lost to time. The book/scroll burnings didn't help either. The Brockwell Family has maintained control of the City for the last century, with Lord Emyrson Brockwell serving as the current Governor and High Lord of the City. Lord Emyrson Brockwell has high approval among most of the cities residents. The rich are getting richer and everyone else is too busy with daily disteractions to complain about it. Governor Brockwell administers to the protection, propersity, and wellbeing of all citizens residing in the Fiefdom of Grainwood. Though he does have the ability to veto or put forward any new law upon his fiefdom, he has a House of Senators that see to the daily activities. There are 10 Senators representing the citizens of Grainwood, each representing a different geographical location. Together they gather taxes and ensure funds are allocated to projects that benefit the entire fiefdom.District Representative | Name | Portrait/Description | Campaign Slogan | Rumors/Conspiracies |

Defense:
The Grainwood Military patrols the streets of Brockwell. Though guards from both the Westlands and the Fountain Lands can often be seen strolling the streets, The Grainwood Military is the only recognized military force within the city walls. Those looking to join the ranks of the Grainwood Armed Forces will have a few branches to choose from:Grainwood Mast Masters: As cities naval division, the Grainwood Mast Masters protect the waterways and shorelines from would be infiltrators.
Grainwood City Guard: This branch of the military will patrol the streets and resolve petty disturbances across the entire City of Brockwell. Their main claim to fame is protecting the city gates that permit entry and exits fromt he city. The best guards are usually promoted to work at the Prison, where the fiefdoms worst criminals are held.
The Grainwood Border Troops: The Grainwood Border Troops, or GBT's as they are commonly called, are the front line soldiers that protect the borders of the city. They patrol all of the roads of Graindwood, though one is morelikely to encoutner them on the streets bordering other countries.
Brockwell Prison
Brockwell Prison is the largest and most secure prison in all of Grainwood. The main prison building is 4 levels, with 10 different cell blocks. There is an administrative and processsing building in the front, and multiple corridors leading out from it to the different cell blocks, which cover the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors of the building. The basement is use for interrogations, and there is a long underground tunnel that runs from the prison courtyard to the Colleseum, where many prisoners can compete in hopes of being granted their freedom. It is a gamble though, as many perish in the colloseum. The Seaside Colleseum
A large amphitheater with a picturesque view of the bay and the Mayoral Estate across the water. it seems like a week can't go by without some sort of event happening at the Colleseum, and with prices ranging from free to 100 gp a peice, it is one of the few places where the poor and rich can experience the simple joys in life together. The free seats are obviously first come first serve, and are located in the top tier of the colleseum, while the more expensive the tickets get, the close to the action you can get. With the 100 gp tickets purchasing a seat in a private box in front of the action.Commerce:
As the City of Brockwell is on the Golden River, the Gold's Deep Inlet and it is bordered by two different countries, Brockwell is a Mecca for trade. Some call it the Tri-Kingdom Crossroads, and anyone who has been anywhere would likely have traveled through it at some point. Basic goods can be found at the shops in the Shopping District, but there are plenty of unique and rare goods to be found Wheel and Port Markets, where out of town merchants can show off their wares. Those looking for the rarest of goods, may seek out the artisans in Artisans Circle. You will need plenty of gold to purchas something from the shops at Artisans Circle.Wheel Market
