Homework Week 1: Nourishment

Assignment 1

Think about ways the theme of Nourishment affects your world. Do people generally have what they need? What happens when they don’t?

Well, the art of world-building in Stendaaris and now my new world of Elaris nourishes my soul. I do a lot of logical business writing and work throughout the year. Spending the time of June and July to reset my soul and reconnect with the passions of imagination is key. However, in the world of Stendaaris, there are numerous opportunities. I haven't considered how food shortages might impact my games or the world. I have, however, explored the concept of a Kingdom going dry after a brewery catches fire.

If you found any outdated articles in your world, update the most important ones now! Do the same with your worldbuilding meta.

Well, Ellaris is new, so everything is outdated as that will be evolving. Then I decided to create a reboot game in the World of Stendaaris to see how new players and new ideas shape the world. This means that almost everything will have a 2.0 version associated with it, and this will be fun.

Homework Week 2: Roots

Assignment 1

Look at the cultures and areas you’ll focus on for Summer Camp, and think about how their past shaped them.

I really like the Primer Page Idea. I might actually take that into consideration and have it linked as a primary page for my world. I'm a bit distracted at work and home right now, but my mind is getting ready for summer camp. This section is about roots getting back into the reboot of Stendaaris, with new players, is a bit exciting. This should be a fun time. I have to go back to the beginning for a lot of inspiration, digging out old notebooks and OneNote to relearn my world's past again. It has been a fun time.

Assignment 2

Go to your world’s homepage and imagine you’re a new reader discovering the setting for the first time. What should you change to make the experience more engaging?

I think the previous suggestion of a Primer Page would be ideal. It would help them navigate and understand my homepage right now. Even though my homepage is organized it still seems messy. Always room for improvements.

Assignment 3

Find your earliest worldbuilding project. What mistakes did you make that you want to avoid? What good ideas from those early days can you integrate into your current project? Remember to take a moment to be proud of how far you've come!

My earliest mistake was writing about the history of how something came to be, rather than how it is being used now or in the present.

Homework Week 3: Metamorphosis

Assignment 1

What transformations and adaptations have the people in your world gone through? What changes are going on right now… and who is trying to stop them?

This is fitting because doing a reset causes me to maybe change the NPCs from the previous games to the new game. It might have different influences and implications on my world with a 2.0 version.

Assignment 2

Choose a new genre, style, or author, and take a look at their art! Write what you learned from them and what inspired you.

Recently, I have been listening to the litrpg genre. Also, some that have a bit of romance along the way. I have come across some cringy litrpg romance books and it really shifts my mind on what type of style I like out of this genre.

Assignment 3

Read a couple of articles from the community, give them a like (and why not a sticker!), and write about what inspired you.

Homework Week 4: Tomorrow

Assignment 1

Think about current events that will impact the future. Who is working to create a specific kind of future?

In my Elaris the future goal is to restore the light balance between day and night back into a standard 24 day night cycle

Make sure everything’s ready—from your writing space to your writing schedule—before Summer Camp begins!

First is getting over my work's fiscal year. Being an accountant,t this is a busy time for me as June 30 is our fiscal year. I didn't get a chance to finish the homework on time.

Who or what will help you achieve your goal? What will your sharing strategy be during Summer Camp?

My wife is really supportive of my summer camp writing.

Extra Goals

I want to revisit my Summer Camp 2024 Articles and complete them fully. Additionally, work on any tasks that I had to skip or fill with a placeholder due to the intense activities I had last summer.
