Homework Week 1: Change
Assignment 1
Consider what kind of changes would fit in with your world's themes, genre, and other foundational points.
My world is always evolving its origin story of how it was created. I still haven't fully established a set lore or solid state of how or why it was created. So my timeline is always changing and is never set properly. The only non changing event is when my campains happened. Overall I will have to see how these will new prompts for Week 1: Change will shake up my world.
Assignment 2
Based on this, decide how many prompts you'll go for during Summer Camp.
Assignment 3
Get your categories and tags organized!
I want to go back and look at my articles and update them with Tags. I am organized with my table of contents but will be looking at them again.
Assignment 4
Take a look at your meta, primer, and any other high-level document and update it according to the current state of your world.
Homework Week 2: Refuge
Assignment 1
Consider what kinds of refuge would fit in with your world's themes, genre, and other foundational points.
My current D&D game that is taking place in the world of stendaaris is called the Seas of Sendaaris. So I have been writing alot about the various bodies of waters. I will have lots of islands I could even write about for this theme as well. I also see refuge in a way of complete your my horde of many unfinished prompts that are stubs so I have a refuge in my Articles section instead of CHAOS. Since I am a creature of CHAOS another plan on this is to double down on last weeks homework and work on new tag concepts. Been thinking of adding a LORE## tag to the year I started a project and know what it is all linked to regardless if I ever finish it or not.
Assignment 2
Find a community—whether that’s our Discord server, Facebook Group, your RPG or friend group, or something else.
This year I have a dedication I want to achive for. This isn't a goal for me its a goal to put the best work out their for my followers and my players in honor of my father. I have been doing lots of minor homework prep for this summer. Don't be surpised if I have many prompts on fire. That is unless we get many curve balls. I still dread the war conflict articles. Maybe my military players can give me a hand with those this year. I have a player that is in the army and one that was in the navy playing in my games. Sorry not sorry Talbrix and Daji.
Assignment 3
Find ways to improve styling and layout in your world!
Umm thats the thing of the /'s and ['s and ['s and weird things right. Yea I follow the KISS modle keep it simple stupid approach. I will not get to complicated heck I still don't know how to do tool tips properly.
Assignment 4
If you’re a CSS wizard, maybe take the time now to give it a polish!
Lets get real the widget goes here. The whatcha call it goes here its broken? GRR. This isn't for me. I will just be in amazement of the beautiful almost cinima quality work other Anvilites create.
Homework Week 3: Belief
Assignment 1
Consider what kind of beliefs would fit in with your world's themes, genre, and other foundational points.
My favorite motivational quotes is something I always tell myself. Live by the 99% because no body is 100% perfect. That is because there is always somethig to improve on and learn. So always strive to be 100% but just remember if you fail that is expected. Pick yourself up and try again.
Assignment 2
Create a bank of inspirations! Quotes, music, description of experiences and shower thoughts, etc.
My inspirations are usually life experiences, family, friends and maybe some media I have seen before. I tend not to heavily rely on that media other than Dungeons and Dragons 5e lore as my game uses that setting for alot of its games. I have had a coworker state that sounds like xyz and asks if I have read a certian book and the answer was no.
Assignment 3
Find art and pictures that inspire you, and grab a map if you don't have one (and need one).
Well I have three maps that are always changing plitically. They are still relevantish I need to add some changes to the maps but overall same location and shaps. Nothing to drastic has changed.
Assignment 4
Check your inspirations again. Are they still relevant? Can you find any that better represent the current state of your project?
My inspirations are similar to my assignment 2 and they are always evolving because one needs to learn to strive for perfection. However this year one of my inspirations is my father and his memory as last Summer Camp he passed away.
Homework Week 4: Decay
Assignment 1
Consider what kind of changes would fit in with your world's themes, genre, and other foundational points.
In some of my prep and brainstorming prior to July I have some ideas about tearing down the leadership structure of an organization and redoing it. So in kind it is like planting a seed of decay and watching new tree emerging.
Assignment 2
If you like special tea when you write, stock up for a month. Tidy your office, make a “do not disturb” sign, and think about any other last-minute strategies to optimize your writing space and time!
Well I got plenty of Diet Coke and sunflower seeds will keep me going. Plus I have some D&D sessions to think of while the month happens so it will be a great time.
Assignment 3
Review your world homepage to hook potential readers!
Right now I think my homepage is decent. I do need to update a new intro for the Seas fo Stendaaris setting. Other than that I feel the structure is adaquate for now. If anyone has tips though please send them my way.
Assignment 4
Take a look at your author profile and pillar articles on your world and polish them!
Every article of mine needs polishing and going back to. There are always things to improve and correct. No one is perfect so there for we should always strive to improve.
Extra Goals
I would like to go back to my Summer Camp 2023 Articles and finish them fully. Also work on anything that I had to skip or populate with place holder due to all the intense activities I had last summer.
