Jair Ivy
Jair Ivy is the head of the combined temple of Meret and Moseni in the city of Ronewell. He can be somewhat hard to read and get along with, but he is devoted to the service of his deity, to taking care of his people, to taking care of the destitute, and to Doing Good.
He enters the The Luthien Chronicles when he refuses to accept a bribe/succumb to blackmail and use any of his people or his influence to have Taskin Dal murdered soon after he arrived in the Empire.

Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Black, short hair awkwardly hangs over a bony, frowning face. Beady hazel eyes, set rooted within their sockets, watch lovingly over the stronghold they've call home. A goatee graciously compliments his eyes and mouth. He stands tall, despite his delicate frame. There's something enigmatic about him, and people tend to shower him with gifts, while still trying to avoid him.

Personal history
Jair was born in a destitute family in the poorest part of Ostar. His earliest memories were of hunger, cold, and a pervasive sense of insignificance. His parents, hardworking but perpetually downtrodden, taught him to survive, but not particularly to hope. One fateful night, a fire swept through the neighborhood, leaving Jair's family even worse off and with another baby on the way. Only 6 years old, desperate and starving, he wandered into the courtyard of a grand temple dedicated to Meret, and collapsed at the feet of its marble steps.
The clergy took him in, offering food, shelter, kindness, education...he was awestruck by their compassion and the temple's ability to help. It was here, in the quiet hours of prayer and study, that he felt the deity’s presence for the first time—a warm, guiding light that promised purpose instead of pain. He dedicated himself to the temple’s teachings, and ended up training as a scribe.
Jair's rise in the ranks of the Meretim was not without trials. Starting his career in the Empire, he faced some scorn from other clergy who viewed his impoverished origins as a stain on the great temple's dignity. He refused to let resentment take root, insted excelling in his career as well as in spending time on the general outreach work of the temple: organizing food drives, leading missions to heal the sick, and standing up to those who would exploit the poor. He rose through the ranks slowly but steadily, eventually named Revered and given the leadership of the large temple in Stormitval.

Employment
Before being appointed to being running Temples, Jair trained and then worked dutifully as a scribe. His speciality is illustrated manuscripts, often long textbook-like tomes. He still keeps his hand in, working on some difficulty or personally important pieces as time allows.
Social
Family Ties
Jair did not stay in contact with his family. His only 'family' ties are his Temple family.
