Half Orcs

For similar reasons that the half-elves found a healthy niche in the north, the half-orcs found a home on the wild eastern continent. The most successful, the richer human population naturally attracted more opportunities for tribal mergers and alliances. Eventually, this led to half-orcs becoming the fourth-largest race on Plumo.   Their survivability, well-honed anger, and carnal attunement made them a dominant force among the tribes. The fact that they were more willing to take to the seas than their full-blooded cousins put them in ascendence after the Great Fall. The vast wilds and certain well-defended islands became their outposts. Though not a large part of human society, sub-tribes still pop up in many major cities, sometimes when one least expects them.   Able to survive the cold quite well, and with the promise of battle humming in their blood, piracy became attractive to many young half-orcs. The major southern pirate groups were more than happy to draft half-orc blood into their ranks, and they became a mainstay on just about every ship to sail the southern seas.   Half-orcs avoid leadership roles outside of tribal structures in the east. Though they can make shrewd business leaders sometimes, particularly in the areas of mining, lumber, and farming. Seeing a half-orc lording over a sprawling plantation of sharecroppers is not uncommon.
