The Outlander Inn
Built in 1201 by the mysterious wizard Jonathan Maron. He decided to use his great wealth to build a massive roadside Inn at the crossroads south of The Ghost Crossing. When his death came abruptly and strangely, the Inn was left to his daughter, who had recently disappeared without a trace, coincidence maybe, maybe not. Originally called Marons Inn, It was auctioned off to the Oliander family, where its name was changed to Outlander, and has stayed since. The Outlander Inn is a five-storied building. The first floor is the lavish dancing room and bar, lit by a huge hearth and by lanterns hanging from the sides of the grand staircase. The next three floors are the particularity of being soundproof, thanks to magic cast during the construction of the inn. Those floors are dedicated to rent their luxurious rooms to travelers, regular patrons. and nobles including counts and countesses. The fifth floor serves as the feast hall. This is an Inn for only the wealthiest of Vedanians, considering they offer many services to patrons, including courtesans. The Outlander serves many kinds of meat dishes done to order, including singular hot pies made of boar and veal, bacon and kidney, seafood, or chicken liver. Its Daintyfish skewers dish are made using twenty little fishes called silverswimmers which are fished out off the coast of Port Deepwater in the bay, this has become a world famous dish. The Daintyfish is dipped in herbed butter and sizzled over a flame until they’re crunchy. Likewise, the Outlander offers an assorted menu of mussel-and-basil soup, chowders, turtle soup, octopus broth, mushrooms doused in an herb-and-garlic sauce, and scallions and fennel soaked in a parsley-and-mint chicken broth. For sweets, the Outlander offers blackberry-and-apple pies, topped with cream and sliced almonds; palm-sized gooseberries, almond tarts, and when chocolate is available from Avalon, strawberries in a chilled chocolate coating. To work as a barmaid in The Outlander, you must be willing to engage in sexual relations, and also be of desirable quality. There is a staff of fifteen barmaids, two bartenders, fifteen servants, a stable boy, a full time minstrel group called Two Fold Folly, and a team of four chefs.
A room for a night has a price of 20 gp, including stabling services and as much food and drink as desired, while a single dinner has a price of 10 gp. If a client desired the company of one of the ladies from the staff, additional 45 gp were added to the bill. Wine of good quality costs 6 gp, Solean Wine 9 gp, and Foridian Wine 20 gp. A mug of ale or cider has a cost of 4 copper pieces.
