House of Von Carstein

A vampire is an intelligent undead creature which feeds off the blood of the living in order to prolong its unnatural life afflicted, or blessed depending on one's viewpoint, by the curse of vamparism. Among their own kind, true vampires use the slang term full-blood to distinguish themselves from those they consider lesser but associated beings, for instance, vampire spawn or Dhampirs. Nosferatu evolved first, driven to rage by their hunger and decay. Some of these adopted the traits of their human prey, pretending to nobility and youthful exuberance, becoming the Moroi, which are by far the most abundant of species. House Von Carstein has been a staple of stability in the region for over a thousand years. They do their best not to kill those they feed on and maintain a mutual respect with the Inquisition as long as they do not digress into a feral state of living. Vladamir Von Carstein maintained control over the house since its founding until his son Menardo Von Carstein wished to break ties in 1632. Menardo was slain by The Inquisition in a cataclysmic battle in Drachenthorne, leaving Vladamir able to continue control over the family. Which thankfully for his kin, allowed their survival.
