Pinepass Village

The small town of Pinepass sits at the confluence of two large rivers that flow towards a great ocean. To its south lies a stretch of swampland left mostly unexplored. This town normally leads a quiet existence but recently there has been a surge in complaints from people who live and travel on the outskirts of Pinepass. They have started to call for aid against monstrous threats at an increasing rate. Creatures not known to normally wander so close to civilization have started to press closer towards the town. Members of the Emerald Eye Guild have been tasked with pushing these threats back. Each new report is met with a swift response, but the frequency has left the guild house nearly empty as most of its members are now constantly on guard.

Recently trappers and hunters who scour deep within the swamp have returned with rumours of something much larger than the normal threats. None have seen the creature, but the evidence of its presence cannot be denied. With all her guild members already tackling other threats, Aranella Duskwalker, the leader of the Emerald Eye, has posted a call for help on the town notice board. The post reads as follows:
