Protectorate Dragon
A white form under the ice, most people don't realize they're seeing one until they're already dead. Fiercely protective, they will devote their lives to the protection of whoever and whatever they deem fit. If they harm anything they protect, they will transform into a Black Dragon.

Genetics and Reproduction
When two Protectorate Dragons deem each other worthy enough, they will mate and lay a white egg. This egg must be in below freezing environments for at least a years, after which it will hatch.
Ecology and Habitats
It prefers icy and cold environments as that is the ideal hunting, mating and laying place for it.

It may only eat frozen foods.

Social Structure
Most Protectorate Dragons don't interact with anything they don't care about, so there isn't much structure between Protectorate Dragons who don't interact frequently.
Domestication
They can be domesticated, although only through making it care about somebody enough to protect them, as they will then do anything to protect them, including willingly getting rid of their free will. This process is easier on newborns, but still needs to be redone every generation.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Once they have been tamed, they can be forced to protect anything, and fight for their masters.

They all live in the Frozen Oceans and the very most Southern and Northern parts of continents.

Very bestial, the least intelligent of all Dragons.

Anything they deem worthy of protecting, they perform a ritual on so they always know where they are.

Naming Traditions
They are named by their parents after another creature they protected, which leads to names like "Luke-Richard" or "Naeris-Vola"
Courtship Ideals
It is expected of Protectorate Dragons that they don't proclaim themselves to each other, but instead perform actions. One of these is proclaiming they will protect the protected of their beloved, or simply protect them.
Relationship Ideals
One expectation of two lover Protectorate Dragons is that either would be willing to give their souls to each other, which has led to a few couples actually splitting their souls.
