Mechanus
An area of perfect law that holds the Slate of the Gods and determines where all of the souls go when they die, then distribute the information to the Celestial Undertakers and Infernal Undertakers. There are lawful Angels and Devils working together in perfect harmony to ensure that it can handle the hundreds of souls entering at any time and the many transactions of souls.
Geography
The plane is made of a system of gears with various gravitational planes that are designed to make transport simple for anybody who knows how to move through the area. A distance that would take a day to travel in the World of Mortals might take either a minute or a year, depending on if the traveler works with the rotation of the gears or against them.
Localized Phenomena
There is no weather, and all gasses are found at a perfectly equal pressure and composition throughout the plane.

History
It was created when Gae created the 16 Afterlives. Soon afterwards the perfect order of the plane was discovered and creatures that valued that order occupied it. A few decades later when mortals started making deals involving souls, they needed an intermediary that could both collect the souls and be trusted, and so the plane became responsible for collection and distribution of souls upon death. In addition it became possible to contact this plane to resurrect people. When the structure of the afterlife changed again, the business of collection and distribution or resurrection did not change, however the mortal souls left, and since they were never perfectly orderly, the realm began to work more smoothly until invaders came, exploring the unused portions of various afterlives, of which there was none here.
