Helkir and the Soul-Prowler

Helkir was a young woman, who lived with her old parents and her deceased cousin's children. The two small boys did what they could to help around the house, but ultimately, Helkir had to do most of the work. She was always exhausted at the end of the day. The other villagers offered to help Helkir in small ways, but she refused. She was too proud to say yes, her family was her responsibility. She didn't want to be seen as a failure.
After 5 years of this, Helkir was getting weaker, her body couldn't keep up. The boys weren't growing as fast as she wanted, and so there wasn't much to do. She decided to take a walk one day, the chores were done, and the boys were busy playing as her parents made dinner. While walking she lost track of time, and before she knew it, it was night, and a storm was coming. She had to find shelter quickly. She came upon a cave, just a lightning and thunder struck the forest. The cave was big and deep, knowing she would have to wait out the storm anyway, Helkir decided to explore the cave.
As she was walking deeper and deeper, she suddenly saw a light, following she came to the end of a tunnel. Here she saw torches and barrels and gold. And in the middle of the room was a dragon, four times as tall as her, liquid meta dripping off of it, its body covered in different colored eyes, all looking at her.

Helkir screamed, certain she would be eaten, instead the dragon spoke. It spoke in 50 different voices. "What brings you here little soul?"
Scared Helkir didn't know what to say, so she asked the dragon the same. It explained it lived in the cave, waiting for travellers to come by, and granting them wishes in exchange for something else. Helkir thought of her family, of her shaking hands barely able to keep them fed. And she looked at the dragon, "You can have whatever you want, if you make sure my family is safe and healthy."
The dragon laughed loudly, "Such an easy thing to grant." It spewed magic around her, before getting so close to her, she could hear screaming coming from its body. And it said, "In exchange, I'll take your soul!"

And Helkir was never seen or heard from again.
