While the Dragonborn were always the dragons favored children, they also created the yuan-ti. The serpentfolk turned their worship to the Great Old One Yig and the serpent god Sseth. Their cold and calculating intelligence allowed them to dominate the other races in northern Caldonia, first secretly, and then openly.   It is said that the yuan-ti were the first to breed elf and human to create the Elfmarked (half-elves) and the Rageborn (half-orcs) to create servant-races better fitting their needs. They summoned creatures from the Astral Sea and the Elemental Chaos and are said to be responsible for the first tielflings, aasimar and genasi.
