Gorandor Elnafial had decades of experience with the creation of clockwork items, and was renowned throughout the surrounding area. His work always commanded the highest prices. This book was a compilation of the various techniques and skills he had learned over the years as well as his research into golems, automatons, and other magical constructs.
It covers the practical aspects of constructing clockworks, starting from the raw ore, through to processing it into metal ingots, and then forging them into clockworks of many types. The book then goes on to also cover other areas such as golem-craft and magical animations. Many of the techniques described here would be useful for constructs of every type.
Once the item to be created has been determined, the next stage is to decide which enchantments need embedding into it. In some cases, these enchantments can be added to the finished item; in other, they need adding during the manufacturing process. Gorandor breaks down these decisions with great care.
The tome also contains the spell Animate Objects, and a brief discussion of its uses.
