Blackmere Swamp
These expansive moors form the eastern border of Hawkmoon. The marsh is claimed by Hawkmoon, but little is done with it as it is filled with monsters such as otyughs, froghemoths, and large reptiles. Lizardfolk and bands of bullywugs roam the Blackmere. Farmers in the west cultivate the tall, thick grasses and work to drain the swamp for farmland.
Rumors of a "swamp mage" have circulated for years, but stories change with each telling. Farmsteads close to the swamp shutter their windows and bar their doors and barns at night, but those close to the Blackmere speaks of strange lights and noises are various times each year. Persitent rumors speak of a beacon-like light coming seen in the western Blackmere.
