Darius Rucker
Darius Rucker's path to Rogers and Associates was not a straight one. Darius was born in Hartford, CT to a WWF TV producer and his wife a Postal worker. Darius originally wanted to be a WWF superstar. He wrestled in middle school and high school. He got a scholarship to the University of Minnesota a well-known wrestling program. While at Minnesota he got a girl pregnant and married her. Darius wound up having to drop wrestling and get a job to support his family. He worked for the school cafeteria and as a weekend laborer at a local lumberyard. He graduated from college with a degree Kinesiology. He tried out for WWF, but did not make it as he had gotten out of practice with his grappling roots. He became a personal trainer for 2 years, while still working in the lumberyard. Darius joined a gym and became friends with a few guys who did weekend MMA fights. Darius trained with them for a year, and on a dare took a fight. Darius found out he was pretty good at fighting, but his instincts often got him in trouble. He was a great opportunist in fights, but he often got caught up in the moment and kicked or hit his opponent in an illegal fashion or place. His record after 2 years was a middling 13-8. He did it because it helped him pay the bills for his now growing family. Darius and his wife Monica have 8 kids. Paul Rogers recruited him and has him signed for 2 years as a security person for Rogers and Associates.
