Mini Story Prompt: Frog

Alrighty, everyone! Sorry for the delay in our first and only official prompt being issued this round!   The Clue Crackers got busy right away on this poem:
With a poison dart,
This rare heart is struck through the glass;
A rainbow bleeding from the gray.
As the tree falls,
A cacophonus chorus sounds,
Followed by the silence of crickets.

People immediately jumped to the idea of FROGS based on the mention of POISON DART, but they quickly scurried down various rabbit holes. XP These rabbit holes, however, were all well and good! You’ll find out why in a moment…
As @Berrybrook pointed out, there were several FROG species listed in the poem:
Actually, there are the names of quite a fewspecies of frogs here. Glass frog, tree frog, rainbow frog…
In fact, each line contains at least one species:

Poison Dart
Glass
Rainbow
Gray
Tree
Chorus
Cricket

Also, the reference of a ‘rare heart’ was mentioned because amphibians and most reptiles have a three-chambered heart, which does not occur outside of those zoological groups.
Diversions aside, it’s time for your one and only official writing challenge:

Mini Story Prompt: FROG!

Look at your character(s) through a special lens to find out how they are similar to a FROG! Then, write short stories showcasing this. Any comparison is acceptable, but if you are still at a loss or looking for ideas, a few are listed below…

  • Amphibious: Frogs are capable of living underwater and on land. How is your character able to adapt to different environments and situations?
  • Green: Some frogs are green. How does your character relate to the color green? Do they have traits such as disgust, wealth, nature, or envy that can also be categorized as proverbially green?
  • Metamorphosis: Frogs begin as water-bound tadpoles before evolving into the hoppy creatures that ribbit all about. Then, there is also the classic tale of the frog prince–royalty transformed into something considered unsavory or off-putting, then changed back into something even more wonderful. Did your character go through a similar occurrence?
  • Poisonous: Some frogs display bright colors that may make them appear attractive, but those in the know are keen to stay away. If the warning is not heeded, they could be in for a horrible discovery when attempting to harm the colorful creature. Does your character display warning signs that caution others to be wary of them? Or have boundaries been crossed just for the bad actor to have a rude awakening as they realize how much power your character actually has?
  • Translucent: Some frogs have skin that allows you to see their internals! Does your character bare their soul in a way that others can see, or are they open about their feelings?
  • Small: Some frogs are tinier than your fingertip! Was there a time when your character felt small or insignificant?

  • Feel free to write as many stories as you wish in first, second, or third person, past, present, or even future tense. Adhering to the prompt however you see fit, please stay within the PG-13 realm, adding spoiler tags and trigger warnings where applicable.
Though stories are not being judged, please post links to them in the thread below so that others can check out your works! For the purposes of ECC Mini, it’s advised to keep each of your stories around 300 to 500 words. If you would like to write less or more, that is perfectly fine. It’s your story after all, and the main goal is to help you get to know your character(s) better!
Feel free to write in a Google doc, WorldAnvil article, WorldAnvil Forums post, or just in your character's bunkers in the Infinite Imaginations Discord Server. However you want to do it. When done, post the link below so that everyone can know you entered.
      God bless and much success!
