December 2025 Talent Showcase

A few showcases ago, I wanted to draw something featuring my character, Genevieve from my novel trilogy. However, the ideas did not end working out. However, this one did and I decided to draw her in the midst of winter weather.
  Winter is her least favorite season, and she wishes that the cold and snow would go away. This is because for Genevieve, winter is a time of grief and death. This scene is partially inspired by illustrations and paintings of the Greek goddess, Demeter where she is shrouded with a cloak, wandering and looking for her daughter, Persephone/Kore.

I started with the word Frost and let the canvases show me what they need to be. The only one that gave me a challenge is the one with the lighthouse, it took me four to five times to get the lighthouse area to look right. I am self-taught, have only been painting since 2021 and it is part of my recovery from PTSD and up until September of 2024 I was going blind.
