Deus Rex

(Seph) Deus Rex, the great beast of Savra and the embodiment of nature's wrath. This tyrant king godbeast awoke before the first year of the current age and destroyed an ancient empire. The ancient Savran Empire was the home of Valoris's arcane masters, using their strange forgotten magic to warp the laws of reality, controlling existence to unimaginable degrees through the guidance of their Pharaohs and mastery of magic. That empire died in days to Deus Rex. In the godbeasts wake water turned to boiling pits of tar, dinosaurs ran rampant over the land with their angelic guides of winged tyrannosaurus rexes, and the green fields of luxury turned into a harsh dry desert. The cities turned to rubble, the magic that controlled the world was lost to time, and the sun itself became supernaturally hot across Savra forevermore. This terror ended though in Year 0 with the Triumph of Saint Decius. The Blessed Saint grabbed a spear, climbed the godbeast, and stabbed it through the heart. Nature's wrath fell, a godbeast had been killed by a single mortal man. Saint Decius soon became revered and hated by the world with the people of the now Savra Desert worshipping him, especially after his death when he ascended to godhood. The fate of the godbeast Deus Rex though became that of bones as its skeleton lies across the entire Savra Desert. Its bones are used as a very useful resource and in its skull hundreds of years later the great city of the Boneyard was built. The Order of Saint Decius has had a religious debate, its more principal members do revere Deus Rex as a god equal to Saint Decius, but the larger group of its members despise Deus Rex and all godbeasts, seeing them all as violent monsters. Despite being a corpse, Deus Rex still influences Savra in the modern day.
