That Annoying Bard
How rude! You, mean sir, are most definitely getting inolved in this story - whether you like it or not.Okay, his real name is not That Annoying Bard. Obviously. The guy is actually called Brandon, but that sounds boring. The nickname fits him much better, or so I am told. They say behind every great man there stands a woman. How about "behind every hero stands a very annoying bard"? Well not every hero per say and not always behind - usually somewhere off to the side - but that saying is still kind of true. He is always there, lurking just out of vision, waiting for all sort of adventures and mischief to fall upon an unlucky soul chosen to be a hero.

Who knows? The bard only sings songs of others, never of himself. For that we would need to get a second bard, shadowing the first to tell stories of a bard following a hero... Can you see how annoying that sounds already? Must be the reason bards generally cannot stand each other.
What we do know is that That Annoying Bard has been annoying people for at least a few decades by now. And he seems to be still quite young for all these years! Although hard to tell for sure, the guy is a master of camoflauge - most people give different accounts of how he looks. Or suggest that is in fact a group of people instead! Some sort of a guild, perhaps?

A guild? A guild?! That is a bloody cult!es, those theories are also popular among certain types of people. That Annoying Bard possesses some kind of supernatural powers, and he uses them on innocent people for reasons unknown. Finds potential heroes, earn trust with them, turns them into heroes proper and then betrays them and uses in some dark rituals. Although I have yet to hear why would he need heroes specifically for it. What even is a hero, anyway?
