Messengers of Mathlann
The Messengers are a sect of sea elven priests of Mathlann who follow similar strictures and guidelines as those applicable to Manann the human god of the sea.
The priests of this sect are called 'Messengers' due to the unique nature of elvish interaction with their gods.
Mathlann and his children 'The Spirit Friends' are allies and friends of the sea elves and not their masters.
Instead of worshipping them, the sea elves deal with them through the Messengers. This is not to say elves do not have faith in their deities. Elves trust them, but they do not have blind faith in them. They can be used and abused with dire consequence and should be treated with respect.
