ShadeStone is a magical glassy black stone that is completely smooth, brittle, and heavy, often found in small chunks but can come in larger pieces. Found rarely inside of the Gratur Mountains inside of deep burgundy geodes filled with a oozing bloodlike liquid that encapsulates the stone and constantly releasing a weak magical force. When ShadeStones are subjected to magical energy such as when its inside of its geode it absorbs all nearby light creating a area of darkness proportional to the size of the of the stone and the amount of magical energy passed through it. Prized for its beauty and by magical circles for its properties revolving around light. Most common to be found in smaller geodes creating stones roughly the size of an egg although on rare occasion can be found in extremely large pockets the size of large cannon balls. No one is sure why the Gratur Mountains are the only place where one can find ShadeStone but it is believed it is connected to the GodStone that pierces the mountain. Slightly stronger then glass ShadeStone is prone to breaking or chipping although it is immune to extreme heats and colds. Heavier then Glass it can be quite cumbersome but is often seen as a great gift if someone can find any of notable size.
