Lifandi Wood

"Hard Winters Makes Harder Woods"
Lifandi Wood is found only in the far north of The Grand Cheifdom of Skeodan, Found most abundantly in Svartur Forest and Valkas Gift, The wood can be found generally anywhere north of Faersla and Reit. Lifandi Trees are large tall straight trees with a thick heavy bark that can be used as a pain killer and thick nettles covering its branches, Roughly two hundred feet tall and a width at the trunk of roughly ten feet. The wood of the Lifandi tree is heavy, dense, and most interestingly immune to all cold and frost, creating near perfect insulation against the cold, even as far as to ignore the effects of True Ice. Dark brown in color with swirling patterns in the grain the wood is prized for its beauty and properties and is commonly used for Furniture, Weapon hafts and shields, Ship building, and Construction. Semi Rare in the north it can often be found in large amounts but the Grand Chiefdom has a law prohibiting the large scale harvesting of these trees, In order to legally cut trees you must gain permission from the Chiefdom and pay annual taxes, ontop of this their are restrictions on the amount you can harvest and a one for one rule requiring you to plant a seedling for every tree cut. Although not the highest in demand wood it still sees plenty of demand and this has lead to poaching of the trees of which the penalty for is death. Lifandi trees live between two to three hundred years and do almost all of their growing within the first fifty years.
