Fort Lapis Lazuli
History
Fort Lapis originates from a old fort named Fort Petrino that existed in the days following the dark ages. As the gods rose to power the fort was used as a mining fortress and a mountain side defense for a local city state due to consistent raiding from the orcs in the mountains and the giants from across the pass. The fort was later captured and turned into a Orcish raiding base before becoming engorged in the Gods War. After the Gods Wars the fort fell into a local warlords hands before being captured and turned into a minor Citystate again. Following the rise of the Empire the fort was taken and renamed Fort Lapis Lazuli and used as a staging base as the Empire pushed south. the fort was then turned into a penal colony until the war with the Eastern baronies where it was again used as a staging base, supposedly the base had a secret operation conducted by the empire in it but it is unknown what it was. Following the War with the Eastern Baronies the fort once again was deemed to expensive to maintain and fell into disarray and was abandoned. Within the last thirty years the Fort has been a den of bandit activity operating in the area between the Bellum Mountains and Lake Cessabit. In the summer of year 984 AGW the fort was taken by a band of adventurers who have received a Title of Lordship for it and been given stewardship of it.Keep
The Fort Lapis Lazuli can be broken into two parts, the Keep and the Outer village. The keep is mined directly into the side of the mountains base with the only visible part being its double oaken reinforced doors. After passing inside of the keep the first room is a long wide reception area with stairs on the far end that spreads into two directions. On one side is a empty room followed by communal latrines. In the other direction is a open room recently reconstructed from a collapse. Farther into the keep is a empty 4 that leads to a small dining room on one side and a large room with a well into the mountain spring and a forge constructed into one corner. even farther in is a small room being used as a royal bedroom holding 6 people. Across from it there is a iron door leading into a room lined with chests currently being used as a treasury. Furthest in the keep behind reinforced doors is a empty room once used as a throne room.Outer Village
Outside the doors to the keep is the outer village. A small stream fed by a mountain spring flows from the base of the mountain and flows into the woodlands below. The area outside of the keep is heavily forested and full of game but recently has seen heavy logging from the forts inhabitants. Freshly build huts now surround the entrance to the keep. Roughly five hundred meters from the closest building is a palisade stake wall with no gate. The outer village has a small lumbermill and a small tradehouse.Population
