Session XXVIII: A Change of Leadership Report

General Summary

The party debated the merits of attacking Captain Bellweather or whether they should find him some hookers to rip their hearts out. Zaunfanie explains he went to the laughing beholder and the captain has a vendentta against beholders for some reason. After debate, Garlith is made the commander. Captain Bellweather tells Garlith that he is to make sure that the ship remains underway and on task. Garlith notices that the room is unusually dusty for an actively used room.
The ship docked at Dragonrock to a scene of busy streets, populated with a greater number of Streltsy and clockwork automotons. The docking officer informs them that an inspection of the ship is necessary and they have to stay overnight. The party argues with the new regulations but the officer says there is nothing he can do. Grewarum stays on the ship as the crew unloads under the direction of Zaufanie and Rudewort.
Coming to the Ocean's Wake, Brassons greets the party. He tells them that his favorate preacher at the temple of Torm is indisposed and has been for a while: Father Gavrila Myshkin. Thaddeus encounters an aged human woman in the bar who is called Khara Sulwood. He finds out from her that her memories were taken by a mind flayer named Sadram over a card game. She can't remember now where a priceless family heirloom is.
The party check in with Father Gavril aka Ganya who is frantic with worry over the missing holy symbol: a gauntlet. He tells them that his friend Boris Khilkov is a clerk in an administrative office in the docks district and may have found something. Going there, the party recieve three leads from Boris of pawn shops that the gauntlet may have been pawned to and the party split up. Thaddeus checks out Rubal's Emporium, who doesn't have it but suggests there is one place that does and the prorpietor of the Pawn King might know. Garlith talks to the owner of the Pawn King and recieve similar information: there is a roving pawn shop that deals in these sorts of goods. The party reunite at Hawking and Gawking where the proprietor tells them about Jubal's Supply Depot.
Going to Jubal's Supply Depot, the party meet John Anderson, a human male from Terranspace who has gaps in his memory, was abducted by illithids, and believes that some south somewhere will rise. He says that a man with sunken eyes and black hair bought the gauntlet, presumably for some ritual as he seemed dressed for one. He suggests to Thaddeus that he join his society which seeks to destroy those "delinators of a sable composition."
