Lucille Blackwood
(a.k.a. Silver Slayer)
Lucille is a powerful noble, and as such, a powerful Magister. It’s her second term in the Senate, and she’s already making herself more of a household name. The Blackwoods own and operate mercenary companies around Knotside, Thrane, and the Dredarian Empire, and sell their services to whoever may need it. Traveling caravans going through the wilds, ships going out to sea, adventuring parties who need an extra oomph. Lucille has passed the operations of the business onto her daughter so she could shift her focus to a career in politics. She believes that the city is too soft when it comes to crimes and other political powers. The Three Kingdoms period of peace cannot last forever, and she hopes to convince the city to bolster its armies and guards, or at least have a plan in place in case they need to go to war. If that means having to hire the Blackwoods mercenaries, she wouldn’t be opposed to that idea either.
Lucille Blackwood started out early as an adventurer. She was born in the Dredarian Empire, and set out at the early age of 15 to join an adventuring party under the promise she would be trained in the combat arts. After years of honing her skills, and picking up a few new ones along the way, she created her own party. A group of ex-mercenaries, soldiers, and knights who could take out entire orc and goblin tribes with frightening efficiency. They could make work of a monster killing contract in a single day, easily felling manticores, wyverns, and even supposedly, a hydra. While the adventuring business was fine, she craved to make something of herself, to think past her next quest. She came to Knotside with her party, originally they were planning to join the Dundragon Adventuring Guild but were hired shortly after arriving to protect a caravan on its way to the next village over. They had been mistaken for mercenaries, but the idea had stuck.
Once Lucille had finished the job she returned with her party to Knotside and established a mercenary company. Originally it was comprised of just her old adventuring party, and it paid far better than being an adventurer had, and she was able to quickly grow the venture. She hired mercenaries, knights, and soldiers from Thrane and Dredarian, and artificers and mages from across Waylia to help invent new ways to fight. Repeating Crossbows were built slowly, a weapon to be used by only the highest ranking members, and a few were able to fashion guns from rare metals and magic. Now Lucille runs her mercenary empire, with outposts ran by each of her original party across Thrane, Knotside, Dredarian Empire, and even a few on the border with Khotesh.
