Cademon, God of Crafts and War
Cademon is the father of Valum, Goddess of Music and the God of both Crafts and War who makes his home on the plane of Ysgard.
Originally Cademon had been one of the kindest gods in the pantheon, he spent his days making crafts with the people of the world and creating art. He fell in love with a mortal woman and would her crowns of Peonies and sing her praises to the other Gods and she reciprocated his feelings and they had a child together, the Goddess Valum, Goddess of Music. Cademons love was kind of heart, and born with the unique gift to walk between the Material Plane and the Shadowfell, seemingly always able to find a portal. Unbeknownst to him his love had heard of the other gods complaining of how many souls would get lost on their way through the Shadowfell to the Outer Planes, to their final resting place. So many lost souls was a pity, and many Gods followers would get lost or trapped, unable to navigate the Plane and its dark shadows. She took it upon herself to take up the mantle of navigator, venturing into the Shadowfell for longer and longer excursions to guide the deceased souls to safety and salvation. Each long excursion took a toll on her mortal soul, slowly stripping her of life and color and imparting the Shadowfell despair onto her.
As legend goes one day Cademon visited her cottage and its garden of Peonies in an attempt to convince her to live with him and the other Gods in the outer planes and to accept the gift of immortality so they could be together. Instead he found her home encroached on by the Shadowfell, the gray ichor and colorless palette consumed her cottage and her garden of Peonies lay wilted and dying, his love nowhere to be found. Upon discovering the other Gods knew of her taking up the duty of ferrying souls for them and did nothing to stop her caused him to fly into a rage. In a flash of anger he returned to his forge, creating powerful and ancient artifacts, and creating weapons. He taught the mortals the power of the forge and blessed them with the knowledge of smithing and leatherworking so that they might create their own weapons of war. In the first, and only war amongst the gods Cademon led a charge of mighty monsters and powerful champions wielding his weapons against the rest of the Pantheon. After what seemed like an eternity the war of Gods and Men ended as quickly as it started in a cataclysmic event that is often considered the beginning of the current timeline. The magic the Gods used to calm Cademons rage obliterated magic from the world, starting the world back to a new and reformed shape, a soft reset of time and technology.
Cademon now is known only for his war and smithing skills, the kind visage of the father of crafts lost to most individuals. He is the only god besides Anhkora, Goddess of Oceans to be considered evil on the pantheon, though it mostly can be attributed to the original interpreters of the myths preaching the evils of war and battle. Cademons artifacts were said to have been rounded up and locked away by the gods, he himself acknowledging the danger that is weapons crafted by a God. Heroes, scholars, and adventurers alike chase legends surrounding their hiding places, as they are said to be the only thing strong enough to harm a God.
