Alveare

Alveare is a rare parasitic condition seen in the warm, and wet areas such as the swamps along the east coast of Nesia such as places like Paida, @Rayara, and @Faluy. Alveare has several more common names that paint the more terrifying picture such as the Walking Husk and the Hive Corpse. Alveare is a condition in which insects make home within a recent corpse, often bees.

Transmission & Vectors

Smaller insects are capable of entering a host through open sores and other holes such as the mouth and nose. This can begin before death but the hive grows more effectively by eating away at the body and carving a space for the hive. While this is not often spread from person to person. If a person that is infected comes into contact with those who are badly injured, some insects may decided to hop to the next host.

Symptoms

Most living victims describe the sensation of their skin crawling, itchiness, restlessness, and a sense of paranoia. Wounds over time do not close up and become infected with other bacteria. Eventually motor control will lessen and organ failure will occur. Once the person is dead, the insects will eat away at the corpse and puppet the corpse until they can find a new host.

Treatment

The early stages of this condition are easy to fix. More clerics are capable of curing it before it's too late with a restoration spell.

Prevention

Villages around high infected areas will warn adventures to cover up their bodies and especially their wounds if they get them. Most adventurers are required to undergo an inspection before they are allowed into the city with no exception.
