Writing on Stone
Network of Curious Writings
The area called Writing on Stone is a rocky terrain within the prairie lands. The rocky system resembles a canyon with complex twists and turns most likely formed by natural wind and water erosion in a time long past. Pictures and ancient writings are carved into many of the walls in this canyon complex. Researchers haven't been able to agree about the origins of these writings let alone what they could be, but there are a few strong theories. These are some of the following theories. Each one has strong supporting evidence as well as contradictory evidence.
Orc Tribes
Some writings on the wall are like murals carved into the walls. These images depict a group of people, most likely orcs, building their community and worshiping a god. These writings are obviously religious, but the god in the images isn't one of the gods in the Universal Pantheon. It is unclear what this god actually was, but the god in these images doesn't appear in any other place in the world, and the orcs just disappeared without a clue to their absence.Ancient Giant Station
The writings are suggestive of Gigantic runes. The arrangement of the characters in large circles on the ground and writings that are mirrored from one wall to another are types of spells and enchantments that were common among Gigantic runes. Some of the writings in question match other known characters used in Gigantic runes. However, some of the writings in question have qualities uncharacteristic of Gigantic runes, and too many writings are worn away to claim a definitive answer.Druid Circles
Druids are known to meet in circles. Although no civilization knows how to track them, small hints are often left where a circle is or was. Druids speak to each other in their own language, a predominantly oral language. Some writings in their language can be found in the canyon, although no one can decipher them, and no druid is willing to translate. Because of that, it's impossible to the purpose of these messages.
