Ieshen Speaker Shalai is a serene and charismatic leader whose rise to power was foretold by a rare celestial omen, marking her as divinely chosen among her six siblings. Always composed, she exudes an aura of calm authority that inspires devotion among her people. Tall and graceful, Shalai carries herself with the poise of one who is both a spiritual guide and a stateswoman.  

Personality

Shalai is unwavering in her faith, firmly believing in the worship of the six ascended heroes as the bedrock of Drissau’s society. While her serenity makes her a natural unifier, she struggles to relate to those who don’t share her spiritual intensity, particularly citizens with weaker devotion or differing perspectives. This extends to one of her eldest sons, whose lack of priestly potential frustrates her despite her love for him.  

Leadership & Family

As the Ieshen Speaker, Shalai has worked tirelessly to strengthen Drissau's position on the global stage. Her diplomatic efforts focus on fostering stronger ties with neighboring powers like the Dulinri while cautiously monitoring the Ni'rral Empire's decline. Domestically, she enforces strict adherence to the worship of the six ascended heroes, maintaining the theocratic unity of Drissau while projecting an image of divine guidance. Her zeal is however also causing her blindness, as in her faith, she has come to believe that no citizen within Drissau would even consider rejecting the teachings.   She remains deeply attached to her husband, a former military commander whose tactical insights and steadfast support complement her leadership. She has several children due to her race's natural fertility, but her maternal bond is often complicated by her expectations of faith and spiritual alignment, particularly with one of her eldest sons, who have shown to lack a grasp on the skills needed among the priesthood.
