Nephali

Nephali

(The Divinely Touched)

Overview

The Nephali are mortals who bear the lasting touch of divine power — descendants of warriors, sages, and heroes blessed during the Arcane Cataclysm by the Prime Deities themselves. Unlike typical mortals, the Nephali radiate a subtle, otherworldly essence: not fully celestial, yet marked by purpose. They were created as champions against the forces of the Betrayer Gods, and their legacy echoes across the lands of Wakodia.

Origin and Legacy

During the height of the Arcane Cataclysm, the world teetered on the edge of destruction. As Betrayer Gods unleashed twisted dragons and corrupted mortals, the Prime Deities responded by empowering chosen individuals — granting them divine strength, resilience, and purpose.   These champions did not ascend. Instead, they remained grounded in mortal form — leading armies, performing miracles, or making heroic sacrifices. Over time, their descendants became the Nephali: a race whose diverse appearances reflect the deity that once blessed their lineage.

Subraces of the Nephali

Elendari Graceful and arcane, Elendari are the descendants of elven champions blessed by Aelindara, the Weavekeeper. They embody the harmony of magic and divinity,   Solari Bold and radiant, Solari descend from humans empowered by Suldarus, the Lightbearer. They channel fire and sunlight, and many become leaders, warriors, or defenders of the dawn.   Lunari Quiet and insightful, Lunari were born of those touched by Lunara, the Moonmother. Gifted with calm grace and healing light, they are drawn to peace, dreams, and mysteries of the night sky.   Morgari Stalwart and enduring, Morgari are forged from dwarven stock blessed by Morgrem, the Forgefather. Their skin may glimmer with gem-like facets, and their spirits burn with the brilliance of divine craftsmanship.   Drakari Imposing and regal, Drakari are dragonkin descendants of Drakhalos, Keeper of the Scales. They are guardians of balance, marked by platinum hues and a deep instinct for justice and order.

Physical Traits

Nephali vary dramatically in appearance depending on their subrace. Common to all are subtle signs of divine influence — glowing eyes, radiant skin, echoes of celestial speech, or lingering warmth in their presence. Their features often combine mortal heritage with a faint, transcendent elegance.

Culture and Society

Most Nephali do not live in isolated communities. Instead, they are born into other societies, often marked from childhood as “touched” or “blessed.” Some rise to prominence; others are feared or misunderstood. Many feel a calling — a sense that their life carries weight, even if they don’t know why.   While they do not share a single homeland, tales of the Nephali appear in every culture touched by the Prime Deities.

Playing a Nephali

Playing a Nephali means stepping into a role shaped by divine history. You are descended from heroes, whether or not you live up to their legacy. Your powers are a gift — or perhaps a burden. You may struggle with expectations, seek the truth of your ancestry, or forge your own divine path.
