Historical Museum of Zevemlya
Purpose / Function
The historical control of Zevemlya through education of Galvander's victories and triumphs.
Alterations
Over the years, the main alterations have been a result of Galvander's rule. from the original hardwood and whalebone to stone, and the change of historical focus from Zevemlya as a whole to that of a history of the mythical ruler Galvander.
Architecture
Gothic and looming, appearing almost like a dark cathedral whose maw lies open under the stares of Draconic gargoyles peering from far above.
Defenses
Like all important buildings in Zevemlya, this museum is built like a fort, small window, solid stonework, and walled paths along the rims of the upper floors allow for guards to watch both inside and out.
History
The museum was built to maintain the history of Zevemlya, but over the past two-hundred years in particular, the church of Galvander has put in an effort to make the true historical record secondary to a focus on the greatness of Galvander himself, villainizing the heroes of the other peoples of Zevemlya who Galvander defeated to obtain and solidify his rule.
Tourism
One of the major points of interest in Zevemlya, it is one of the few places tourists from other cities occasionally are allowed to travel to on pilgrimage with low clearances, and one of the most interesting places for diplomats from other countries to visit, despite the obvious focus on Galvander's greatness.
Many come from within Zevemlya to see the bloody handwraps of the great Zevemlyan hero, Heider. He was one of the few who won the yearly tournament and was allowed to fight Galvander himself. He was one of the few purported to have injured the dread god, and his handwraps are said to be coated in that blood. Heider has remained one of Galvander's generals after his impressive showing against the Tyrant King.
