Giants
"I always liked Giants, the great shepherds of the wilds, somehow overlooked by many that live today as somehow primitive. I say they just know their way works for them, so why change that?" - Nazim, Scholar of Ironweld.
Giants, as they are known to the smaller races of the world, are ancient nomads that roam the wilderness of the world, searching for new grounds to graze their herds of monstrous beasts. Shepherds, tinkers and mercenaries make up the bulk of Giant trades, sticking to simpler ways of living. The average Giant looks much like a human, with skin tones, hair colours etc as various as their smaller cousins. They stand at between 15 and 20 ft tall, wearing clothes made of beasts hides and furs.
Most are friendly to the smaller races, seeing them as fragile things that love such short lives in comparison to them. The only exception to this are the elves, specifically the wood elves, their clans always having good relationships with Giant folk.
When food for their flocks is scarce, Giants often turn to the path of a mercenary, hiring themselves out to towns and villages, acting as guards, hunters and caravaners. In some cases, Giants will join the armies of mortals, acting as living siege engines so long as their hefty price is paid. These often stay to the life of a mercenary, enjoying the hefty sacks of gold and loot they can earn from what to them seems like easy labour.
There are a few subspecies of giant kind, believed to have developed from being in close proximity to certain conditions that change their physiology. Fire giants live among the Dwarf holds, forging arms and armour, as well as more menial things. Their proximity to their forges has changed their skin tone to be a deep obsidian, their hair becoming red like a living flame. At the other end of the spectrum, the Hinterlands is home to a subspecies known as frost giants, fierce warriors who live for the thrill of hunting the many huge and deadly creatures of the North. Their skin is icy cold, blue in tone, and their hair is white as the snows they call home. Their winter halls are some of the most impressive structures of the North, and many Hinterland hunters and warriors have called frost giants friend.

Common Dress Code
Giants who have become mercenaries will wear red clothing when in public, a mark of their chosen path in life.
History
It is known that giants used to have a great kingdom in the old world, living in harmony with the other races of the world. Anam, their god, is believed to be the son of Vrethis, creating the giants to be the worlds children. Giants sided with the forces of the light in the Dusk war, aiding the mortals of the world against the Nightspawn invasion. They were hit hard by the war, their kingdom crumbling as they fought. They have never tried to reclaim their ancient homeland, many choosing to instead take up the life of a nomad instead.
In recent history, a large group of Giants have joined Lerias military, forming 'The Lumbering Legion' consisting of some 30 giants. Never before have they come together in such numbers to fight for coin.

Common Myths and Legends
The legend of the brothers Thrym and Surtur, the original Frost and Fire Giants. Said to be the sons of Anam, these brothers were the pinical of everything that their decents have come to be. Surtur was a master craftsman, forging many great and powerful artifacts for use in the Dusk wars, whereas Thrym was a great warrior, taking on the biggest and fiercest monsters that the Nightspawn had. Together they joined forces to create The Hrafenhilder, The Raven Blade. Black as night with a winged guard, this 20ft long blade would go on to reap a bloody toll on the forces of the Nightspawn. Wielded by Thrym and forged by Surtur, the blade has since been lost to the ages, said to be guarded by an ancient Giant named Hreasvelgar. His name is whispered in hush tones in giant society, for it is believed that he stalks the night as a giant raven, waiting for the day the Nightspawn return to once again unleash Hrafenhilder upon them.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Giants have great relations with Wood Elves, Dwarves and Hinterlands. But have good working relationships with most mortal races.
