Pre-Destabilization Transportation

Teleportation was common before the Destabilization; every major city had at least one public teleportation circle, with most private institutions and powerfulpeople owning their own. They cost valuable resources to operate, so they were a luxury reserved for the upper-class. Now, teleportation is still very possible, but it is much less predictable and carries inherent risks; important people or goods are no longer expedited through teleportation hubs. Formal teleportation services are mostly closed-down, and teleportation remains the domain of the few high-level mages left.   Magical vehicles were common before and during the Brothers' War, but have almost all ceased to function and been scavenged for materials. A rare few automated carts, magical ships, and prototype airships are still functional, making them all the more valuable.
