Burdok (Burr-doc)
The most common pack creature in the land, the Burdok lives to serve it’s masters, with it’s secrets being kept by the prominent breeder families of the realm, who hold significant sway over internal politics of whatever nation they are located in.
The Burdok are a species that has grown to need humans, and as such they must be maintained continuously by means of trimming, feeding, and cleaning. Their one true weakness is their large size, as they make for a large target that has little ability to retreat.

Anatomy
Six legged, covered in wool-like dreadlocks that range from brown to gray. Blue are rumored, but unconfirmed.
Heavily built, stocky, capable of charging rapidly at a short distance, but can only manage slow progression over a long distance.
Rare horns, potentially from it’s pre-domestic era.

No tail, but proper musculature for one.
Genetics and Reproduction
In addition to added protection, the dual ribcages act as a cocoon for the fetus to grown in, eventually being expelled through a slit in the underside of the creature, which occurs naturally once the fetus is large enough. While the process is traumatic for the mother, it is rarely life-threatening.

Ecology and Habitats
It is able to thrive in any environment, but is unsuited to desert climates due to it’s heavy coat. Some reckless adventurers have tried to simply shave most of the wool off, with varying degrees of success.

Biological Cycle
It’s well known that in the colder times, the vitality of the fetus is threatened, and as such decreasing reproduction rates at those times. No hair is shedded from them, but their hair is known to grow longer during winter than in summer.
