The tree in which the Waywards Tavern rests in was grown by a mighty wizard who had hidden some of his power within.
Summary
A wizard grew the tree and it is said that he imbued it with some of his power.
Historical Basis
It is, a person traveling the road saw a robed man waving his arms around and chanting while a tree grew quite massive.
Spread
It is only known to those inhabitants of and around the village, and to any who visit and are interested in local legends or overhear people talking about it.
Variations & Mutation
It was transformed very little as the man who saw it wrote it on a tablet and the village has it preserved and hanging on a wall in the tavern.

There is the tablet of the story of how the tree was grown that hangs in the tavern.
