Tlajism
Tlajism is the pseudo-religion practiced by the Lizardfolk. Once the lizardfolk were relocated and given life by the elven empress, Tlaj Tsiki, they eventually began to worship her as if she were a deity after several generations misinterpreted the story. The creation of the lizardfolk could be understood as divine intervention if lazily explained, but the worship of her seems to have been pure embellishment by the lizardfolk.
Structure
There is a single priest or priestess who communicates with Tlaj as well as performs sermons and keeps the teachings alive. There are many other reverends tasked with the upkeep of the many temples spread throughout the islands. They are also tasked with teaching those without the ability to visit the high temple to experience a sermon from the priest.
Culture
Their way of life is determined by Tlajism. It is very much present in every walk of life within their culture. The beliefs stemming from Tlajism are the foundation of the lizardfolk principles.
Public Agenda
They have all been encouraged to stay true to the Tlajism beliefs in every aspect of life. Those who stray from the religion, although very uncommon, are arrested and are treated as traitors.
Assets
The temples are heavily decorated with silver metals. All of the silver was a parting gift from Tlaj once she had relocated them.
History
Before the stories became too misunderstood, the organization existed simply to remind future lizardfolk of the good deeds of Empress Tlaj. After the original members of the organization passed away and left it for their children, the stories slightly changed.
After several generations of the stories shifting slightly, the entire story has been embellished to a ridiculous degree. The simple story of Tlaj discovering the eggs and gifting lives to them, raising them, and finding a home for them, was eventually changed to explain the Goddess Tlaj gifting life to them and placing them on their islands.
