Liriene
Liriene was born in the midst of the war of severance, a bloody conflict between the elves and humans over territory and resources in South Vithrin. Her family was deeply affected by the war, losing many members in the battles. As a young elf, she was forced to grow up quickly and learn to fend for herself, honing her skills as a ranger to survive in the dangerous wilderness while continually keeping an eye out for human soldiers on the hunt for anyone they saw as a threat.
As she grew older, Liriene became increasingly sympathetic to the Severed, a rebel group of elves who sought to reclaim their ancestral home from the humans. While she did not condone all of their tactics, she understood the desperation that drove them to such extremes.
Liriene was also proud of her ancestry and lineage, particularly that of Tamaiel, one of the original Ildari. Tamaiel was a legendary warrior who led the charge in battles against hordes of demons and undead, but ultimately vanished after the hordes were vanquished. Liriene felt a deep connection to her ancestor and often wondered what had become of her.
Despite her difficult past and her lingering resentment towards humans, Liriene found a new family in the Sun Blades. She took a particular liking to Alem, despite his human heritage. Over time, their friendship helped to repair the damage done by the war and she began to see that not all humans were like those who had caused her so much pain.
Now, as they sought to obtain the celestial stone and restore Mondis' connection to the realm, Liriene was determined to protect her newfound family and help bring justice to those who had suffered as a result of the war.
