Extending Branch

A mechanical device made of natural materials that can extend the reach of the user upto 10ft. A reliable device that is surprising compact, the extending branch is an item that is drawing the attention of both tinkerers and businessmen alike.

Application:

The devices is a thick bracelet made primarily from shaving of oak or ash bark hiding all the cogs, compressed string and inner mechanisms of the device. With five digits made of twisted twigs and roots laying flat over the hand of the wearer making it easy to conceal in public. When activated, the bracelet unfolds and extends twice the length of the wearer's arm. The maximum length being 10ft. Once in its extended form, the digits are able to grab small objects and apply small pressure to open doors or use handles.
Ooo, what's that you have there? I've never seen one of them before? I have been away delivering some potions and I got a little lost so it's been some time since I've been back. But it is so nice to be back, to see the blossoms falling onto the road again, but that comes with problems doesn't it. Especially if we get Sparkbugs again like last year. Did you remember?

Origins:

The original creator of the extending branch chose to keep their name anonymous to the public, giving themselves the pseudonym Fenta. What is known about the creator is that they came from Uwoll with a passion for inventing objects that could rival everyday magic. Their hope was to create enough blueprints and prototypes before journeying to Elsgard, a beacon for merchants and new technology. But their adventure was cut short due to funds and they ended settled in Sianwood. Selling all kinds of mechanisms that were made pure of wood and stone. While there is a small market for their inventions in the city, Fenta has made an impression on the tinkering community, with a new deal being struck with the Alliance Guard.
Slate's Internal Thoughts
Why would someone require a further reach? Can they not simply take a few further steps? An impressive feat of engineering, one that is rather complex and far beyond my understanding at this time, but I do not think I would require such a thing. I could see it being entertaining to the children of the city, but they have minds unlike many adults. Full of wonder and creativity, perhaps why they were created? To keep children occupied.
