Pompoma Jellyfish

These jellyfish are small and round like pompoms. They live off the coast of the island of Pompoma, named thus after the jellyfish themselves when they floated too close to the mainland and led to discovery of the island. they have little stingers on their tentacles which tend to curl upwards. Their sting isn't fatal but it is excruciatingly painful.
These jellyfish tend to bobble around together rather than swim, looking like a bunch of bobbing apples. Because of this a group of these jellyfish is called a "basket". They have a light purple, transparent appearance with crossed speckles of green and red on its top. Their diet consist of algae and small fish.
An interesting feature of this species is that they can turn their tentacles up and invert their cap to latch onto bigger animals. Occasionally large animals like whales and fish are spotted with a small basket of them attached to their backs. They eat the parasites and gunk off of them and float away when they're in comfortable waters to live and breed.
