Aren Aren laughed. The dreamland rippled as magnifecent wings erupted from their back. They smiled and tranformed. Ever time, Emily looked at Aren's ease in the Afterworld with a certain fear. Aren smiled and in a crpytic manner said "All the ciacdas and insects are at my heel." Not only was the line stupid but it seemed creepy for the purpose of being creepy. Then Nyx and Emily saw what Aren refering to. Beetles, Ciacdas, insects of all types flow out from a point behind Aren. The land flashed from white to rippling oceans. Emily and Nyx fell from the sudden loss of ground. While they quickly regained thier footing, Ariana started to cover the area with insects. Emily looked around with unease, insects were just the start. Ariana flow up and grabbed an obsure object and threw down. On Emily's shirt a blob burst. The burst caused eyes, human ones, appear all over. The horror was real. Snakes, flies, dust, a loss of footing, and a dark sky made the world seem like a nightmare. Aren's control of the afterworld was terrifying to all. All of sudden Aren smiled. Repressing it, Ariana chanted loudly. Nyx watched with interest, nodding at the elven words. Emily only understood a few word, those being Olive, sleep, and Afterworld. Everything else was different langugues. All of sudden, a girl, a woman, popped into existence. The human fell 200 feet into a swarm of beetles, a wasp 2 inches long landed on her. More of the giant wasps surronded Olive and Emily. The screams were real Emily realized. Olive was a person. This is the nightmare of a person without a fear of death then Then with a snap, the effects disapeared. Instead, snakes covered the human while Nyx and Emily took in a now unaltered Afterworld.
Some Ashanti stuff:
The battle horn sounded. Ashanti merely smiled. Battles were strangely calming to her. The gates opened. Outside the barracks, on the oceans, there was the battlefield. Ashanti knew that their predesccors were to blame for the messed nature of the war, but could see the benfits of their actions. The diplomatic spell causing Emily and Ariana to meet also made the oceans they fought on land. The ground was strong and it was the forest on all sides. Yet, one fall and Ashanti could drown. Enemies charged, war cries of the hunters could be heard over the forest. Ashanti took a few steps and then started her fight. Ashanti rarely fought with weapons, her hair was a good weapon. Twirling and nimbly dodging attackers, Ashanti watched her two attackers attempt to surrond her. Setting her full self on fire, Ashanti charged at them. Spells and enchantments on the clothing kept the clothing from burning off and served as armor to Ashanti. Hands cloaked in red fire laced with blue, Ashanti watched the hunters burn and run off.
Some Stephan:
Stephan walked into the classroom. "Only two days off for a major injury," he scoffed. It was 6:20 am. Having already completed all of his workouts like running 20 milkes or 200 squats. There were arm or upper body workouts though. He wasn't allowed to. Still, one handed push-ups had been permitted. Stephan fized the chair of Petra, a particularly dispruptive student. She was very good at class however, and even was class president. Petra, with her blue and yellow hair streaks, was a student that Stephan couldn't do without. The field trip would be today. Stephan wouldn't miss today for anything. He had to move as the original day was the day after he got his arm cut off. The children only knew Stpehan had a major injury from duty but they were lucky. The carnage of the battlefield wasn't known to them yet. The crusted blood of your enemies forever lodged under uneven bitten nails or the count-down that the VoM doggy tags would play. At the second to last tick, the tag would jump into air. At the last one, they explode. Sizzled flesh would sometimes rain from the sky. The smell of burning hair and vomit would waft throught the fields. Smoke and scattered ammo everywhere kept you alert. The sting of a 2 inch deep cut on your thigh and the taste of someone else's blood on your toungue were pains forgin to the children. As 7 neared, the children filed in. "Everyone in alpha order now!" Stephan ordered. They were just 10 years old. How could Stephan be harsh on them? By 7:30, they all set off. The field trip was simple. A trip to the beach and border to teach children about the border. Once they arrived, Stephan headcounted them again. No one was missing. "Good," he sighed. As he led them to the border, he watched Petra sneak glances at the glimmering wall that was the border. A void that protected everyone. Only weather was allowed in. A bit like osomis. As Stephan taught, some kids drew away to look over the cliffs. Stephan wasn't overly worried. Everyone had gliders. After a while, they took a lunch break. Stephan ate and watched the kids play. The sandy cliffs weren't the best training grounds, but they worked. Petra silently sneaked off. Noticing, Stephan ordered everyone to stay in one place while he searched. Telepathing, screaming too, he yelled "PETRA!" There was no answer. How could I let a child run off? he cursed himself as he ran. Surivial instinct kicked in and Stephan stopped midstep. He trusted his gut but there was nothing suspi-"PETRA! There you ar-" Stephan never finished his sentence. Petra was being held by a person Stephan now hated. Bres. Bres merely smiled. A second girl peeked out. A boy too. Bres laughed loudly, "Stephan, my good man, how are you?" Stephan glared coldly. "Give me back my students." His threntaning gaze didn't faze Bres in the slightless. Stephan stepped forward. "I wouldn't do that if I were you" Bres smiled. "One step closer, and I blow up your class."
"You wouldn't"
"I would."
The three students watched in fear. Not for long though. Bres threw Petra and then pressed a button. Stephan watched in horror as Petra sailed, hitting her fellow classmates. Then she exploded. The whole class was gone, with only a large puddle of blood were once smiling students stood. Stephan screamed. He couldn't handle the pain, the horror he just witnessed. Rare despair climbed from the depths of his mind into a rough requiem of utter pain. The other two just watched and Bres laughed. Both men had tears in their eyes but for different reasons. Stephan rushed at Bres, ripping the bomber jackets off the remaining children. He stumbled on the next step. His new metal arm flashed from the sunlight. Bres saw it and his once bright eyes now sharpened. He went from dodging to now mericlessly trying to kill Stephan. The sound of helicopters filled the sky and one made it's way to the front. Bres jumped on it and made his escape. With his target gone, and the class gone, Stephan curled into a small ball and tried to stop the tears. Two slow wights pressed against him. The only two surviving children. Matthew's brother and a girl who looked like the Abadi family.
Bres:
Bres locked himself inside his ornate room.
Ashanti and Rowan's first meeting
Ashanti entered, bristling with excitement, and hair slightly glowing. Rowan by contrast had been dreading this meeting. Rowan didn't want to admit it, but he was considering just to accept the first person just because he hated the idea of talking to too many possible riders.
"Hey! My name's Ashanti Conley!" Her smile as she reached down to a tired Rowan. Her hand was out as if she expected a handshake. Rowan lifted his head off his forelegs and nodded. He got up. As he got up and turned, his wings unfurled and knocked the poor elf into the wall. "Oof!" Her voice was surpirisingly quiet.
"Sorry, I'm not used to people,"he mumbled. His quiet voice furthered dampened by his undergrowl. He pounced off only to get hit in the face with a large fire blast.
"WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" She was much louder. Her yell and anger was justified. A stranger just threw her into a wall.
"Sorry," he muttered. Her fire stopped but her hair stopped floating and returned to a dormant glow. Her face was illuminated by her hair and eyes. To be fair, her hair was only 2 inches long. Her eyes were the thing glowing so brightly. She shrugged it off, and said nonchantanly "Not the worst thing I've been through."
Rowan's interest was piqued. He was also worried. This girl was young. She didn't look over the age of 18. She wouldn't have started being in fights yet. "What?" he answered hoarsely. She stared back at him. "Oh, my parents and siblings were killed when I was 7." She spoke in a detattached matter, as if she didn't care. Rowan knew better. He had seen soliders and riders stumble into their rooms silently crying, mourning friends lost. He himself had seen flashes of his predessors lives. Mostly in dreams. "Do you remember them?" He hoarsely asked. She looked back at him, before shaking her head.
"It was 9 years ago."
The girl was only 16.
Emma:
The battle was long. The smell of blood enticed Emma. Sniffing out Stephan, Emma telepathed "Hey, need help?" The response was immednet. (Scene is basically Stephan ducking an attack and Emma jumps up and destories the attacker).
Aren:
(Scene is just Aren at gunpoint) Aren looked at the Alainn in front of them. The gun was pressed against their skin. The Alainn barked a simple threat, "It's ten against two, you scared?"
Aren looked start into the eyes of their agressor. Their soft voice only muffled by the cracking in their voice. "I quite like those odds as well Sergerent." The sergerent
Aren attacking Bres: Even though they knew they could never kill Emily, Bres was still a valid target. Aren was flying at high speeds, at least for a human. They picked a sword from an enemy's hand and the horde of people trying to stop them only grew. Aren dropped to ground and started to run. Aren reached Bres and tried to slash at him as he turned. A magic charm protected him. Emily dived off her dragon. Reaching the ground faster than Aren, she picked up Aren and threw into the air. The two battled in the air. Aren and Emily had wings that each tried to target. Neither could hit the other. They knew each other's moves too well. Aren skimmed the air with grace matched by Emily. They moved in and out, dragons and flying beasts trying to break up the fight. A green energy shelid surronded the two. It kept others out of their fight path but followed them as well. Aren pushed Emily toward the Elven Castle and the armies went back to fighting.
