The Bui-Vak (pronounced
Bweeveck) is the military of
T'Ched. It encompasses their army and navy combined. The combined military force is estimated to be around 120,000 servicemen.
Etymology
The name Bui-Vak comes from combining the native
Mynuk word Bui'Gra, meaning
"Military might," and Telvak, meaning
"people." The words together translate to
"the mighty people," but it's often used in the posessive, meaning
"the might of our people."
History
The region that is now T'Ched did not have a unified military until its regional conflict with the expansionist
Sura Pel in the early sixteenth century. After Sura Pel was repelled by
King Eiknir the Great,
Estaria became a greater threat to the people of T'Ched, who unified their tribes under their first Highmark,
Gamlevon the Crow, who formed the Bui-Vak as a unified defense against the Estarians.
Structure
The Bui-Vak are organized into two branches, their army and navy.
Army
Their army is significantly larger than their navy, and is often coloquially called the Bui-Vak without any added specificity. The number of men in the Bui-Vak Army are estimated to be around 100,000.

Types of Infantry
Kuvasas vs Justaveks
The Vak infantry is divided into two main types of foot-soldiers, Kuvasas and Justaveks. The optimum difference between these two is that Kuvasas are kitted in heavy
Aether infused steel plate armor, and Justaveks are more traditionally kitted cloth uniformed soldiers and officers.
The majority of T'Ched's army is comprised of Kuvasas. Justavek's are only employed when the materials to outfit Kuvasas are not available, or if an engagement requires long marches on foot.
