Accession of Queen Rhona

King Norman II had decided to abdicate before the achivement of stable orbit, deciding that the new landfall era should be commanded by a younger individual and the glory shared. King Norman II and the Accession Council had chosen the King's niece, Princess Rhona as the most suitable candidate as she had been born during the same population cycle as many of the first pioneers; at the age of 26 she would ensure long-term stability for the duration of the immediate colonisation period.   This gesture by King Norman II, of chosing the share all of the initial glories and accolades of the colonisation period to a younger relative was instrumental in the later development of both the monarchy and clan system where the custom of abdicating responsibility to younger generations at the early onset of old age has become the expected standard.
