In public he favours plain, clean clothes; in the workrooms he is unadorned and professional, more physician than libertine.

Aaron entered the trade at sixteen, apprenticed to Moods’ father. He proved dutiful but notably untalented at brewing, forever a step behind the flame and a note shy in his measurements. After the elder Moods died, Aaron remained as assistant to James—fetching, cleaning, and keeping accounts.

At twenty-one he accidentally opened the wrong door and walked in on a Milking session: Moods at work, a Dispenser half-reclined, the room perfumed with alchemical oils and low light. The shock hit first; curiosity followed; then a recognition he could not shrug off. Within a fortnight he was being taught the craft—the rhythm, the ethics, the preservation—and discovered he had a gift for it.

Discovering the work also clarified the worker: Aaron prefers men. Since embracing that truth he spends most nights in the sodomitical circuit of Wapping — dockside beerhouses, back-rooms, and borrowed lofts — where he is a familiar, welcome face. A few of his Dispensers have followed him there, some for companionship, some for community, some simply for the music and heat. He does not advertise his profession, but neither does he lie when asked.

Reputation: Among Dispensers he is known as “Golden Fingers”—a nickname he pretends not to hear while accepting the extra shillings it tends to bring.

Methods & Professional Ethos

Aaron works to the Ambrosia pipeline: careful set-up, measured stimulation, timed extraction, enchanted vials, and calm after-care. He is meticulous about session intervals and never pushes a Dispenser past safe yield, preferring steady productivity over spectacle. He is particular about stamina-oils, swearing by a lighter blend to reduce irritation and keep lads willing to return.

Aaron keeps to a simple code: consent, clarity, care. He refuses commissions that treat Dispensers as expendable and will end a session the moment a lad wavers. He tracks oil exposure and insists on rest days, citing long-term health risks and permanent changes if overused.

James Moods (master/employer): Professional loyalty with occasional friction—Moods chases breakthroughs; Aaron protects bodies that make them possible.

Dispensers: Maintains a small roster of regulars; is known for respect, clarity, and good after-care. He has ushered a few newcomers into the work, explaining risks (soreness, stigma, oil accumulation effects) as plainly as he dares.

Family: Father deceased. Mother believes he “works as an alchemist” for Mr Moods and is proud of his “respectable position.” He has never corrected her.

He carries himself with quiet confidence and a practised discretion that calms nervous lads and demanding patrons alike.
