The Arcana Ranks
The Arcana is the Myriad Syndicates Ranking System for its members. The system categories members into four suits: Imperial Arcana, Grand Arcana, Major Arcana, and Minor Arcana.
The supreme leader of the organization. The Ruler’s command extends across all suits of the Arcana, guiding the syndicate’s vision and ensuring its influence remains unchallenged. They govern not only internal workings but also external dealings, such as forging alliances or declaring war. Regent
Second-in-command, serving as the right and left hands of the Ruler. Regents are responsible for carrying out the Ruler’s will and managing critical operations, stepping in when the Ruler is unavailable. There can only be two Regents at any time. Ineligible playing cards for Imperial Arcana are Numerals and Jokers.
A select group of advisers who assist the Ruler and Regents in decision-making. They evaluate risks, propose initiatives, and manage relationships with other factions, playing an invaluable role in maintaining the syndicate’s power. However, they are subject to the law of the Imperial Arcana and can face demotion for inappropriate actions. Adjudicators
Adjudicators manage and monitor various areas, ensuring adherence to the rules for all challenges, trials, and punished criminals. Adjudicators act as the watchdogs of the organization. Those who have received the rank of Joker commonly nickname them Handlers. Adjudicators are split into two groups, Enforcers and Overseers. Enforcer
Enforcers uphold the syndicate’s laws and regulations, maintain discipline within the ranks, and carry out judgments issued by the Unseen Council or the Ruler. They often operate in the field, addressing any issues that arise, from enforcing compliance among lower ranks to managing conflicts between members. Enforcers play a vital role in maintaining the internal order of the syndicate. They are skilled operatives, often trained in combat and tactical maneuvers, enabling them to handle any situation that may threaten the organization’s stability. Whether dealing with insubordination, investigating suspicious activities, or ensuring that operations proceed as planned, the Enforcers are crucial for keeping the syndicate running smoothly. Overseer
Overseers serve as head managers of various operations within the syndicate. They coordinate organized events, tournaments, and challenges outside the usual trials. They also ensure fair judgment during criminal trials, interpret syndicate rules with precision and pass down judgements from the Unseen Council and/or Ruler. During the trials of selection, overseers serve as judges and witnesses, testing potential recruits for their abilities and loyalty to the syndicate. Overseers ensure the fair and efficient conduct of these trials, administering them and evaluating the performance of candidates to determine who is worthy of joining the higher ranks of the syndicate. Their judgment can significantly influence the future of aspiring members, making their role one of considerable responsibility and power.
Wraiths are the elite of Major Arcana. They act as temporary or permanent area leaders over certain territories. Though they do not possess the full authority of the Grand Arcana, Wraiths have a small domain of power, often acting as intermediaries or advisors to higher-ranking members, while also enjoying certain luxuries and protections granted by their status. Ineligible playing cards for Major Arcana are Numerals and Jokers. The Major Arcana members are often nicknamed, the Privileged.
