Major Arcana

In the Myriad Syndicate, there is only one way to escape the shadows of insignificance: ascend into the Major Arcana.
This isn't ambition—it's necessity.   Young Syndicate members may enroll at Vikan Academy, an institution that doubles as both a prestigious school and a proving ground. There, they are watched, tested, and ranked—not only on their academic standing but on their loyalty, discretion, and usefulness to the Syndicate’s long game. Until they demonstrate their worth, they remain trapped in the Minor Arcana—restricted in privilege, low in status, and always at risk of being discarded.
Elevation to the Major Arcana changes everything. This coveted rank includes both current students and graduates who have earned the Syndicate’s confidence. Whether through calculated success, flawless execution of missions, or political leverage, those who ascend are rewarded with access, protection, and a voice in the shadows. They’re no longer being tested—they're being trained for control.
The Major Arcana is more than a title. It’s a declaration: You are no longer expendable. You are an asset.
But some Syndicate members take it a step further.

The Gilded

The Gilded are the ones who gleam under pressure—those who have either survived or are currently enduring Vikan Academy’s Trial of Selection, a ruthless rite engineered to crush weakness and elevate only the fiercest competitors.
To endure the Trial is to suffer, adapt, and strike when the timing is most unforgiving. It is not for the talented—it is for the unbreakable.
Those who bear this mark are given the title of Wraith.
  • Graduated Wraiths are assigned Syndicate territories beyond the academy, where they command criminal operations and serve as sovereigns in the field.
  • Student Wraiths maintain power from within, often holding the highest positions in student council, exclusive societies like EVE, or running covert operations embedded deep within school culture.
Wraiths build their influence in zones where their faction holds majority control, leveraging dominance, fear, and loyalty to maintain their position. Power struggles between factions are not just expected—they’re tradition. Only the EVE Society is protected, functioning as a rare neutral zone free from factional dominance.
Still, even the Gilded must obey one law above all:

Never threaten the Syndicate’s secrecy. Never disrupt its control. Never compromise its legacy.
Cross that line, and not even a Wraith is above retribution.
