The Abyss

This plane embodies all that is perverse, gruesome, and chaotic. Its virtually endless layers spiral downward into even more appalling forms; while no two layers are alike, they are all harsh and inhospitable. Much of what you can see or touch seems to be in a decaying, crumbling, or corroded state. Many travelers seem to be corrupted by just being here; best friends becoming bloodthirsty traitors, some going mad, and others even getting possessed. Aside from the countless demons that inhabit this plane, the demon lords also rule a layer of their own.
