The Vigilant Order
The Vigilant Order stands as the unshakable shield of Gráshk, an institution of unwavering discipline dedicated to upholding the city’s laws and preserving order in a realm where ambition and crime walk hand in hand. Though the city is a place of wealth and progress, it is also rife with political intrigue, smuggling, and rebellion, and without the steady hand of the Order, chaos would consume its streets.
The Vigilant Order is a rigidly structured organization, with clear chains of command ensuring swift and efficient governance. At the top sits the Grande High Justiciar, a position appointed by the ruling monarch, responsible for overseeing the entire organization and maintaining its integrity. The Council of Commanders, comprised of each parish’s leading officers, advises the High Justiciar and directs the day-to-day enforcement of the city’s laws. Each city outside of Gravenholm has two High Justiciar who rotate in reporting to the Grand High Justiciar.
However, the most elite members of the Vigilant Order serve as part of the Raven Guard, an elite contingent responsible for protecting the royal family, the High Justiciar, and the Palace of Etharandil itself. Clad in distinct, ominous black armor adorned with silver detailing, the Raven Guard is known for its unwavering loyalty, unyielding discipline, and lethal efficiency. Their ranks are drawn exclusively from the best of the Vigilant Order, and their mere presence is enough to command fear and respect in equal measure.
