Born to a military family in the outer provinces of the Surtgard Republic, Endaris was raised with a strict martial education. His early years were spent shadowing his mother, a Warden-Knight, and his father, a scholar of the Codex Vigilant. At age 14, he was sent to the prestigious Lumen Historia, where he excelled in both arcane studies and military theory.
After graduating, Velmire joined the Pale Watch and quickly rose through the ranks, earning accolades for his leadership during border conflicts near the Barrens.
